How TattooQueue Works

Three perspectives: the walk-in client, the artist, and the studio owner. See exactly what each person experiences.

Walk-In Client Experience

30 seconds from door to queue

1

Scan QR or Use Kiosk

Client walks into your studio and scans a QR code with their phone, or uses the tablet kiosk. They see your studio's branded check-in page.

2

Quick Style Quiz

A fast, visual quiz captures what they want:

  • Tattoo style (Traditional, Realism, etc.)
  • Color preference (Color, Black & Grey)
  • Body placement (Arm, Back, Leg, etc.)
  • Size and budget range
3

Waiver (Optional)

If enabled, client answers health questions (allergies, medications, skin conditions), confirms age/sobriety, and signs digitally. Artists see a "Medical Alert" badge if anything's flagged.

4

Pick Preferred Artists

Based on their style selection, they see only matching artists—with photos and portfolio samples. They drag-and-drop to rank their preferences. Artists who don't do their chosen placement are excluded.

5

Wait & Watch

Client sees the "Waiting" page with their position. The lobby kiosk shows them in the "In Queue" list. They can leave and come back—their phone number is on file.

6

Get the Text

When an artist claims them, they get an instant SMS: "You're up! Head to Station 2 with Sarah." The lobby kiosk shows them in "Now Tattooing" with confetti. No shouting required.

Artist Experience

Claim clients that match your specialty

1

Set Your Preferences

In your profile, define:

  • Styles: American Traditional, Fine Line, Blackwork, Realism, etc.
  • Colors: Color work, Black & Grey, or both
  • Won't Do: Placements you decline (Neck, Hand, Face, etc.)
  • Portfolio: Upload samples for clients to see
2

View the Queue

Your dashboard shows waiting clients in real-time. Toggle "Show matching only" to see clients whose styles match your specialties. Each card shows: name, style, placement, size, budget, and any medical alerts.

3

Claim a Client

Tap "Claim" on a client. Choose timing: "Now", "15 min", "30 min", "1 hour", "2 hours", "3 hours", or "Book for later". Set your station number. The system prevents double-claims—if someone else claims first, you'll see an error.

4

Client Gets Notified

If SMS is enabled and the client opted in, they get a text automatically. The lobby kiosk updates instantly. Your "My Clients" section shows who you've claimed.

5

Mark Complete

When you're done, tap "Done". The client is removed from the kiosk. You can also "Return to Queue" if something comes up, or "Transfer" to another artist.

Also for Artists: Online Booking

Set your weekly availability, accept booking requests, and manage appointments—all in the same dashboard. Get email or SMS notifications for new requests.

Studio Owner Experience

Set up once, run forever

1

Create Your Studio

Sign up and name your studio. You get a unique kiosk URL (tattooqueue.io/s/your-studio). Upload your logo and set a custom background for the kiosk display.

2

Add Your Artists

Create artist accounts directly, or generate invite links for them to join. Each artist sets their own styles, colors, won't-do placements, and portfolio. Guest artists can get temporary claim links without full accounts.

3

Configure Waivers

Enable digital waivers and customize the sections: medical questions, age verification, photo release, refund policy. All signatures and data are stored securely.

4

Set Up SMS (Optional)

Enable SMS notifications to text clients when claimed and notify artists of bookings. SMS is an optional add-on at $0.02 per text.

5

Monitor & Manage

Your admin dashboard shows: queue overview, artist management, booking requests, analytics (completion rates, peak hours, popular styles), and all studio settings. Use "View as" to see the queue from any artist's perspective.
